His Midnight Sun

by Viviana MacKade

Tormented, fierce, and broken, sculptor Aidan Murphy has judged himself guilty. He yearns for love but pushes everyone away. He longs for acceptance but has lost the key to open his heart. Until he meets Summer Williams. Beautiful and smart, Dr. Williams promises haven for a man who believes he deserves none. All he has to do is let her in and risk his heart and soul.

Summer’s managed to keep her inner light alive, even through tragedy. She’s created a new life for herself and her daughter in Crescent Creek with loving, caring and fun friends–well, except brooding, breathtaking Aidan. She’s used to keeping away from his type, though. All she has to do is ignore the pull of a man who’s turning up to be much more than snarls and storms. Will her compassion and medical instincts let her?

Love can heal a broken soul and shake up a timid heart. Or it can unleash devastation and revenge.

Will Aidan and Summer survive the hurricane?

THE AUTHOR

Beach bum and country music addicted, Viviana lives in a small Floridian town with her husband and her son, her die-hard fans and personal cheer squad. She spends her days between typing on her beloved keyboard, playing in the pool with her boy, and eating whatever her husband puts on her plate (the guy is that good, and she really loves eating). Besides beaching, she enjoys long walks, horse-riding, hiking, and pretty much whatever she can do outside with her family.

Interview with Viviana MacKade

What is your favourite book of the series?

I know it sounds like a cliché, but this one is my favorite. All the previous books in the series were part of collections. Don’t get me wrong, working with other authors was the greatest experience and I learned SO much, but I always had a threshold for the word count. This time I went in alone, and if it got so very lonely sometimes, I could simply write and see where the characters led me. It was liberating, in a way, and I feel like I could dig a lot deeper than I ever could.

Do you have a dream cast for your characters? If so, who?

Oh, I have the entire cast, which are all the people from the 3 books in the Crescent Creek Series.

Scott Beckett – Eduardo Verástegui

Daphne Jaqueline “DJ” Sheffield Beckett ~ Carrie Underwood

Rhett Beckett ~ Thomas Beaudoin

Florence Harper Beckett ~ Sienna Miller

Aidan Murphy ~ Ian Somerhalder (with green contact lenses, please)

Summer Williams ~ Rachel Bilson

If you were stranded on a desert island, which of your characters would you want with you?

Rhett, probably. He’s the most handyman-like of them all, he can fix stuff and never freaks out which, as we’re stranded on a desert island, it’s a major thumb-up

Did you bond more with a particular character? Who was it and why?

With Aidan. I didn’t realize until after I finished his story how much alike we are, and he helped me to see things differently. His story, and the what he learns, is my story.

What are you writing now?

Right now, after the constant battle of working with Aidan, I’m taking September off from writing. I’m going to study, and plot, and just survive this release. New things will come, and I want to be ready.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

Don’t expect an easy and quick road. I think the trap for many is believing it’s going to be come easily (money, some level of success) and when that doesn’t happen (it does happen to about 0.1% of first time authors), they might give up. This is not a sprint race, it’s a marathon. You’re in for the long run, which could mean decades of eating crap before you have some recognition.
